Shannon Elizabeth Joins Team Brunson

Any woman who is walking down the street and hears someone with an Italian accent whistling and referring to her with the word "Belladonna" should be extremely flattered: that word translated into English means "beautiful woman". Of course if he is wearing a trench coat with no pant legs visible beneath the garment's hem, running is probably the wiser option. Conversely, any guy whose wife suggests that maybe some Belladonna would add a much needed kick to her marina or borscht recipe may want to check his life insurance, or bring his will up to date. Belladonna is also a deadly flower that makes a rather potent poison. A lot of people who have found themselves pitted against Shannon Elizabeth in tournament play have experienced both aspects of what a belladonna can do to you.  When most guys find themselves looking at Ms. Elizabeth sitting across from them at the poker table, they generally get lost in the sort of fantasies that involve a wet t-shirt, chocolate, and perhaps a few cans of Silly String. While they are dreaming of how this combination of items can be incorporated into a letter to Penthouse Forum, Shannon is usually busy killing their stack of chips, and helping to eliminate the awestruck opponent from the tourney. This ability to be both alluring and deadly makes her a tough opponent, but an excellent team member.  The Team Brunson patch will be firmly secured to her jersey this year at the World Series of Poker, and she will be representing Doyles Room in a number of events including the Main Event. Like a lot of talented people in the sports world, Shannon doesn't generally stay with a team very long, and instead likes to test the free-agent market. Doyle will be the fifth big name sponsor she has had to the WSOP. In the past she has represented Bodog, Full Tilt Poker, Mansion Poker and PokerStars. So she should see a lot of familiar faces eager to eliminate her from various events.  To date Ms. Pretty Poison has garnered a good reputation as a player, but has yet to reach the Promised Land in a WSOP event. Perhaps the change to Doyles Room will help finally get her the sort of bracelet that will clash with any outfit she wears on the red carpet during next year's Oscars.
