Matt Keikoan is no stranger to WSOP money finishes. During his poker career he has managed five of them. While this is impressive you can't wrap a money finish around your wrist and make everyone else in the room jealous with it. You can try, but the check will probably just fall apart, rip, or be conned off of your arm by somebody whose personality is enhanced with some serious silicone.
Matt Keikoan started the final table second to Theo Tran in the chip count. Theo was a man on a mission during this tournament. He had seized the chip lead on day one and never relinquished it. It was going to take some brilliant play to keep Tran from strapping on the bracelet at the end of the day. Fortunately for Matt, he got some much needed help from one of his opponents. Carter Gill eliminated Theo from the tournament.
Keikoan expressed his gratitude with a pair of sixes that quickly became a three of a kind. Gill was punted, leaving only Matt and Shannon Shorr.
Over the course of 46 hands, Shorr saw Keikoan press his chip advantage and slowly erode Shannon's stack. Eventually Shorr decided to put his tournament on the line with a 10/6. Keikoan had a K/5 that upgraded to a full house. It was over and Matt Keikoan was now among the six other WSOP bracelet holders this year.
