Know Your Way - The WSOP and Google Maps

So you are planning on playing at the World Series of Poker this year - either you have set aside your buy ins or you are one of the lucky ones that won an entry, you are excited to go - but have you set out to plan your trip? If you have a room at the Rio and all you are planning on doing is playing poker at the WSOP, then you likely don't have much else to plan, but if you want to get out there and see a bit of Vegas during your stay, take some time to explore the area from the comfort of your own home.  Use the Rio All Suites Hotel and Casino as your starting spot, since that is where the action is taking place this summer, and start exploring. Thanks to places like Google maps and the Internet in general it is fairly easy to find out some things - did you know, for instance, that the McCarran International Airport is a mere ten minutes away? (Barring traffic conditions, of course). Is golf your thing? Three courses (Bali Hai, The Wynn and the Las Vegas National) are practically within driving distance (meaning driving a golf ball.)  Hit the official sites of places like the Rio and your favorite restaurants to find out if there is an Outback Steakhouse (for instance) close enough to hit dinner on a night off from poker (there is). Take advantage of the time from now to then to set up your poker trip and make it as memorable - and stress free - as possible.
