2007 WSOP Event 43 - Limit Holdem $2,000

In the sport of racing pole position can be very meaningful. Very few of those who engage in this high class demolition derby have gone from the back of the pack to the winners circle, so during a competition, position can mean the difference between victory and defeat.  William Jensen started out his heads up confrontation against Saif Ahmad with a cushion of 200,000 chips. In other words, he was squarely in the lead position when the gun went off for thier one on one battle. Despite the fact that he began the final pairing in the lead, the match looked like a race equipped Ferrari vs. that van the kids from Scooby Doo tool around in.  The heads up play was short and decisive. Ahmad went past Jensen like William was standing still and admiring the casino's decor. Saif quickly erased the chip lead that Jensen had over him, and then went on to win every meaningful hand during this one on one tournament capper. It was almost a mercy killing when Saif Ahmad finally ended William's pain. Of course the final hand, like many during this heads up confrontation, was brutal.  Going into the last card, Jensen had a high two-pair: Kings and Jacks. Ahmad was building toward a straight and when the Ace fell on the river, he completed his hand and delivered a bad beat to William. This added insult to injury, and relegated Jensen to the second spot in the tournament.  Congratulations to Saif Ahmad on this dominate victory.PlacePlayerPrize1Saif Ahmad$217,3292William Jensen$133,1513Michael Graffeo$88,4814Justin (Looshle) Pechie$59,2745Tommy Rounds$43,8116Hal Havlisch$34,3627Robert (Bob) Pacleb$25,7718Joe Mandia$18,8999Gerald Kane$13,745
