Sometimes a missed opportunity that seems tiny at a particular moment can have a massive impact when looked at through the magnifying glass of history. For example, what would the United States of America look like if General Lee had decided not to fight at Gettysburg? What if redeployed his forces somewhere a few miles down the road where the terrain gave his Confederate army an advantage instead of staying and fighting in a place where his men quite literally had to battle uphill. A more contemporary example is the question of Britney Spears and whether or not she would have all her hair and sanity if she had not decided to dump Justin Timberlake in favor of a personal foray into the real world "real life" that Paris Hilton calls reality. In microcosm of Event 42 at the World Series of Poker, did David Bach fold his way into a second place finish instead of taking his place among the bracelet winners?  While there were still three players vying for the Pot Limit Omaha title, fate had decided that James Tolley would be the victim of the poker version of natural selection. In the hand on which he was eliminated, there was no way he could have won. David Bach after calling a Tolley bet of 120,000, he folded to some very aggressive overtures by Lukasz Dumanski, leaving Lukasz and James one-on-one.  Tolley was drawn into an all in bet that he lost to Dumanski. After seeing the winning cards, Bach quietly commented, "Damn, I would had three-quarters of that if I hadn't folded".  As it turns out David could have used the chips, because one hand later he was done. Perhaps if he had not given in to a moment of caution he would be a bracelet winner today.  Congratulations to Lukasz Dumanski for his bracelet winning performance.PlacePlayerPrize1Lukasz Dumanski$227,4542David Bach$139,7253James Tolley$91,9004Gene Timberlake$60,4855Chad Brown$43,6066Dario Alioto$33,7597Thomas Hunt III$25,3198Mark Wilds$18,7559George Danzen$13,597
