  Let's face it: wedding anniversaries are not intended for the male half of those engaged in matrimonial bliss. The people for whom this particular event means the most are the ones who consider crying an appropriate debate technique and have almost created a religious cult around the act of buying shoes.  Las Vegas is generally considered a place to have a really good and aggressive bachelor or bachelorette party. For this reason many women will rankle at the possibility of spending their relationship's "Holy Day" in Sin City. Well that and the fear that their significant other will ask for something unreasonable, like the renewing of the wedding vows in front of somebody who happens to be dressed up like Elvis. Despite her possible fears of "The King's" participation in a tasteful re-wedding, Mike Spiegel's wife probably is very happy they came to Vegas to celebrate their 9th anniversary.  Spiegel topped Gavin Smith with a flush to win Event 4 of the 2007 World Series of Poker. The victory may not have been something he was planning on, considering the fact that he and his wife had bought tickets to see Howie Mandel on the evening of this particular tournament. Celebrating their anniversary on the winner's platform instead of in the audience of a comedy club was probably far more satisfying though.  Mr. Spiegel showed the sort of grace and class that will now result in him getting television coverage on ESPN. He was very complimentary towards the people he played against and was overjoyed to receive the fourth bracelet of this year's campaign.  Oddly enough, in most anniversary situations it is the woman who gets the gift of jewelry.
