2007 WSOP Event 39 - World Championship H.O.R.S.E. $50,000

It has been remarked by a number of people and sources of Poker News that the $50K H.O.R.S.E. event is the most respected of the bracelets that are awarded during the World Series of Poker. Of course most of the folks saying this probably also believe that size doesn't matter and advocate the idea that a really good personality will give a person a leg up in the world of dating against someone who looks like a playmate when they put on a bikini. The most respected bracelet is the one that is given to the person who managed to survive against an army of 8000 other poker professionals who all have the Main Event jewelry in their sights. So, no, the $50K H.O.R.S.E. event is not the most respected, but it is up there. The person who wins this tournament walks away with more admiration than somebody who put up a $1,500 buy in to participate in a WSOP event.  Freddy Deeb survived a final table that had a lot in common with one of those marathon dance contests from the 50's. After hours of seemingly endless play, Freddy was finally declared the winner at around 5 am. While most of the world was either still blissfully unconscious, or pouring their first cup of coffee down their throats in an effort to jump start their day, Deeb was collecting $2,276,832 for the win and his bracelet.  Freddy showed the sort of humility in victory that would have brought a smile to the face of Muhammad Ali. When asked by ESPN about the victory he had this to say: "I played great and I got what I deserved. This was a special tournament, the biggest in the world. This time I was determined to play the best poker of my life, and I did. I took a lot of bad beats and I survived to come back and win it."  This may be only the second most respected of the championship bracelets, but winning this event is quite an accomplishment. Perhaps people will be flattered instead of infuriated to the point of violence if the words "What a Deeb" are ever pointed in their direction.PlacePlayerPrize1Kassam (Freddy) Deeb$2,276,8322Bruno Fitoussi$1,278,7203John Hanson$852,4804Amnon Filippi$586,0805Kenny Tran$444,0006David Singer$337,4407Barry Greenstein$259,2968Thor Hansen$188,2569Gabe Kaplan$131,424
