In American folklore the O'Leary is almost infamous. As the story goes, a cow belonging to a certain Mrs. O'Leary took it upon itself to burn down the city of Chicago in the 19th century. One can understand what might motivate a cow to nearly destroy an entire city. Considering the fact that most of the bovine's relatives were on the menu somewhere inside the Chicago borders, wanting to wipe the metropolis off the face of the planet was a rather reasonable reaction. Considering the scorching Cairan O'Leary put on the competition of the World Series of Pokers third event, one would think he may have a genetic link to the family of the murderous cow. Ciarin O'Leary faced off against almost 3000 other professionals, and at the end of this massive slugfest, was the last man standing. After three days the game was becoming one of grueling attrition, where stamina was becoming as much a factor as luck or talent. In the end the 24 year old O'Leary only had to overcome Paul Evans to take the third bracelet of the 2007 campaign. In the final hand, it wasn't a bad beat that determined the outcome, but rather a bludgeoning by the young O'Leary. Evans decided to gamble his fortunes on a pair of sixes and hoped for the best on the turn and river. Unfortunately, he was facing off against the pair of Kings that made up Ciarin's hand. With both players all in, the last cards were displayed. The only hand that was upgraded was O'Leary's. He wound up winning it all with a triplet of Kings. The cow would be proud of the way he scorched the competition.PlacePlayerPrize1Cairan O'Leary$727,0122Paul Evans$450,1503Alex Jacob$282,3674Jeffrey Yoak$184,1525Craig Crivello$128,9076Andreas Krause$94,1227Thad Smith$73,6618Bart Hanson$55,2469Matthew Vengrin$43,378
