Most of us love Party Poker so no disrespect is meant to them when we say that winning a Party Poker tournament in the grand scheme of thing is small potatoes in comparison to taking home a World Series of Poker bracelet. In the world of sports, a Party Poker championship rates about as high as being the World's fastest hot dog eater trophy compares against somebody who has a Superbowl ring. Despite how small a Party Poker title is when stood up next to the World Series of Poker, even farther down the size order would be somebody who finished in 38th place at a Party Poker tournament event. Somebody with this forgettable mark as their only real experience in the world of high profile tournaments probably would not be considered a serious threat to take a WSOP bracelet. For this reason it was a pleasant surprise when Saro Getzoyan collected the championship jewelry. Saro defeated Geoff Sanford, a player with a slightly longer WSOP record and some money finishes in the sport's most celebrated tournament. In a heads up confrontation Sanford couldn't hit a serviceable hand to save his life, and the pain ended for Geoff when Saro called Sanford's all in attack, and beat his pair of eights with a Jack high two-pair. The win gave the relative unknown an unexpected WSOP title and the bracelet to match. He also received $333,379 for the victory. This eclipses his Party Poker money finish in pretty much the same way that Jupiter would eclipse an onion bagel. The beauty of the WSOP is that winners can come from just about anywhere. Saro Getzoyan would not have been a favorite to win a bracelet before the Series started, but now he has a trophy that some of much better known players would trade their immortal soul for. It should be fun to see who else will come out of nowhere to take a title.PlacePlayerPrize1Saro (Jard) Getzoyan$333,3792Geoff Sanford$200,5113William Thorsson$136,4934Thor Hansen$93,0085David Gee$68,8506Thomas Koral$54,3567Ray Dehkharghani$41,0698Don Todd$30,1989Gabriel Nassif$21,742
