2007 WSOP Event 11 - World Championship Seven-Card Stud $5,000

There isn't a man alive who wouldn't want to add the words "Stud Champion" to their resume. This is the sort of title that would almost guarantee an exhausting level of feminine attention from a bevy of women who are in the transition between their days as a cheerleader and the "biological clock" years of life. Of course just hanging the pair of words "Stud Champion" out there without some sort of explanation may be misleading.  Chris Reslock is the World Series of Poker, Event 11, Seven-Card Stud Champion. Impressive as this may be, the title includes only a cash reward and a championship bracelet. Breeding rights are something that Mr. Reslock will have to work out on his own.  Of course considering the manner in which he won this particular title, he may appear to be an ideal candidate to pass on his genetic code. He survived a final three against Phil Ivey and David Oppenheim where Phil won 16 of the hands that were played between these last tournament survivors. In fact Chris spent most of his time at the final table chasing Ivey's chip lead, and struggling to stay in within striking distance of the seasoned pro.  Reslock took control not by beating Ivey, but by busting Oppenheim. By beating a weakened third player, the one who could take the bulk of David Oppenheim's chips would take a massive chip lead and most likely be the winner. And David was playing more like an ATM machine than a poker pro, but that it is beside the point.  Once Chris took Oppenheim's stack, he began to push Ivey around like a bully who accidentally got sent to band camp instead of a more appropriate summer retreat when oversized, aggressive children learn the finer points of a swirly or a wedgie.  Seven hands after Oppenheim's departure, the tournament was over and Chris Reslock could officially call himself a "Stud Champion".PlacePlayerPrize1Chris Reslock$258,4532Phil Ivey$143,8203David Oppenheim$93,0604Pat Pezzin$61,3355Theo Jorgensen$46,5306Ted Lawson$35,5327Oriane Teysseire$27,0728Marco Traniello$19,4589Matt Wattel$13,536
