A band called Skid Row once sang a song called "Youth Gone Wild". This little hair band ditty basically extolled the virtues of young people letting their hormones get the best of them and performing the sort of anti-social acts that break all sorts of state and federal regulations that are meant to reign in society's youngest, most volatile members until their brains get firm control of their nether regions. Oddly enough when the youth did eventually go wild, they started wearing a lot of plaid, listening to Nirvana, and stopped listening to 80's style heavy metal. Hopefully Skid Row appreciated the irony in this as they stood in line to collect their unemployment checks. Perhaps the players at the WSOP are not dressing like demented lumberjacks or piercing bits of their body that were never meant to have holes (or in some cases, extra holes) punched in them, but it is the youth that is running wild there. If the champion of Event 1 is a tone setter for the entire WSOP season, the old guard is going to have some problems. Less than 2 weeks ago Steve Billirakis wasn't old enough to enough to enjoy a drink at the hotel and casino where he became the youngest player ever to win a WSOP bracelet. The 21 year old beat out Greg "FBT" Mueller and became this campaign's first champion. This is also the fourth year in a row that the age record has been broken. Steve took home the coveted bracelet, a Corum watch, and $536,287 with his victory. He also earned a spot in poker history. Unlike previous "youngest player ever" champions, his record will probably stand the test of time simply because there is not a whole lot of room for somebody younger to come in and break his mark.PlacePlayerPrize1Steve Billirakis$536,2872Greg Mueller$328,5543Anthony George$218,3294Steve Paul-Ambrose$146,2595Fred Berger$108,1056Roger McDow$84,7887Kirk Morrison$63,5918Jon Turner$46,6339John Younger$33,915
