2005/2006 WSOP Circuit Event #3Caesars IndianaElizabeth, IndianaOctober 19- November 2nd 2005 Indiana got its first taste of major tournament poker in early November 2005 when Caesar's Indiana hosted the 3rd WSOP Circuit Event of the 2005/2006 season. Over 900 players showed up for a preliminary $300 buy-in no limit hold'em event, while the Main Event, $10,000 buy-in no limit hold'em, involved 127 entrants. Houston resident Vinnie Vinh added to his impressive career numbers by winning the $437,000 first place prize. Poker legend Men 'the Master' Nguyen lost to Vinh heads-up but won $243,000 for an extraordinary 2nd place showing; Ron Hargrove of Kentucky won $133,000 for 3rd place; Samuel Whitt of Limo, Ohio took 4th place with $97,280;Doug Carli of Alliance, Ohio won 5th place with $85,120; Bill Elder of Las Vegas took 6th place with $72,960; Marlowe Rowe of Bardstown, Kentucky took 7th place with $60,800; John Smith of La Habra Heights, California too 8th pace with $48,640; leaving Clinton Keown of Evansville, Indiana in 9th place with $36,480.
