If there was a poll out there about which player the fans would most want to see in a Playboy Bunny outfit, both Beth Shak and Annie Duke would be near the top of his list. I am sure there may be a sympathy vote for Gus Hansen as well from someone aspiring to be his life partner, but we would throw that one out based on morals, aesthetics, and the sheer ickiness of the situation. For a lot of us Beth would edge out Annie because there is just something about her that just makes you want to stare at her and give her your wallet. Of course there are those who vote for Annie simply because she seems like the type who could beat the hell out Brock Lesnar if she was provoked. Fear is a great motivator. When Playboy was choosing between the two, Annie Duke got the nod to host their charity event at the Playboy Mansion, but in the end it was the lovely Ms. Shak who wound up playing Master of Ceremonies.
Annie stiffed Hugh Hefner, and not in the good way. She was a no show when the poker charity event was to be played at the infamous mansion. According to some reports, she blew off the event so she could cheer on her boyfriend, Joe Rietman, during a tournament. Thankfully Beth Shak was there to pick up the slack, and in the end, she was probably a better choice then Ms. Duke. Beth is far sexier, more stylish, and is the sort of pretty that can short circuit the cerebral cortex of any guy who doesn’t like playing with other peoples hair or shopping for new drapes.
In the end the event was a success, and probably helped Beth get over a very disappointing WSOP season. Maybe, with a little encouragement, Beth can be talked into participating in other Playboy related projects.
