Poker Cards

At the beginning of every new round players sitting at the table choose to ante or to sit out. Each player is dealt three cards face down. Each player chooses to either stay "in" (play on) or "out" (fold). If they decide to play, they put in another ante (it is usually equal the size of the original ante).

The dealer then says "1-2-3 Drop" and players who do not wish ns to remain in the hand any longer drop their cards to the table.

Those of the players who are still in the hand, they show their cards. The hierarchy is as follows:

1. Three of a Kind
2. Straight Flush
3. Straight
4. Flush
5. Pair
6. High Card

The winner takes the pot, anyone who loses at this showdown matches the pot for the next round of play (all players re-ante into the next pot too).

Note: In "Monte Carlo Guts" all the losing players are responsible for replacing the pot, in "Survivor Guts" the loser with the lowest hand is the only player that is required to replace the pot.

So, if you have: 7c 8c 9h and your opponent has: 7c 9c 9h, you are the winner and your opponent has to replace the pot.
