When the 2010 schedule for the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) was announced late last year, Britain’s poker fans were atwitter with anticipation. With new events and new venues added this year, GUKPT 2010 is shaping up to be a much-watched event.

The Summer Series will also return, much bigger than last year, with two identical mini festivals running alongside each other between May and August. Additionally, there is a series of 23 £200 Club Championships taking place across Grosvenor and G Casinos in the UK, as well as 10% online series, which will take place online the day after each Main Event.
In 2010, the Champion of Champions prize pool has been increased to a healthy £150,000. The GUKPT rankings prize pool will be £50,000 and paid out to the top 20 players of the year.
When the Main Tour of the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour kicked off in January, it was hosted at G Casino in Bolton with a £1,000 Main Event. Leg 2 was at the Grosvenor Casino in Walsall for the same amount. The prize money went up to £1,500 for the Main Event at the Grosvenor Victoria Casino in London this past week.
Additional legs of the GUKPT will carry on through April, May, August and September with stops in Manchester, Coventry, Brighton and Blackpool. The Grand Final, with final prize of £2,500, will return to the Grosvenor Victoria Casino in London in November. The Champion of Champions Festival takes place at the G Casino in Coventry at the beginning of December.
All tournaments will commence at 1400 and players will receive 10,000 starting chips. The winner of each tournament will receive an invite into the gcasino.com-sponsored £150,000 Champion of Champions tournament. Also taking place at each of the venues is a £50 no-limit Hold’em re-buy super satellite into one of the £1,000 Main Events on the GUKPT Main Tour.
