What he learned a few days later is that poker pros dislike a lot of things, but what they really seem to hate is a smart ass. Isildur1 didn’t get much time to enjoy his money before the Full Tilt pros vaporized this poker player.
Online poker is notoriously vicious, but while most take their losses in stride, it the comeuppance that Isildur1 was handed almost made it look like the professionals took his 347K win personally. FullTilt.com pro Brian Hastings made the anonymous Isildur1 his personal hobby. He spent 3000 hands of heads poker at a $200/$400 No-Limit taking Isildur1 apart, and putting a $135k dent in his opponent’s bankroll. Instead of logging out of FullTilt.com, and giving up on poker for the evening in favor of nice, safe sites about wiener dogs, Isildur1 entered a higher limit room with Hastings. In the $300/$600 No-Limit it took Hastings only 600 hands to put $131K worth of damage into the online poker upstart. Online professional THENUTHUNTER also took $106K from Isildur1. In the end, he lost $380K to the professionals.
