World Poker Tour: 2008 Bay 101 Shooting Star

  The Bay 101 Casino in San Jose, CA isn't the hotspot that many of the Vegas Casinos are. It isn't the biggest or the best in California, etiher, but when it came time for the World Poker Tour to find partners for their fledgling idea, the Bay 101 got on the short list. How did they do it? By offering a unique event that is always popular and a lot of fun.  The Bay 101 Shooting Star is a bounty event, the only such on the WPT circuit. Each table has a pro player who is the bounty, and any player knocking out a bounty gets a $5,000 cash award on the spot (and a T-Shirt).  This season it will run from March 1st, 2008 to March 14th, 2008, and unlike most WPT events, doesn't boast many actual tournaments to play. The Bay 101 only has two, a $2k event and the $10k WPT Championship event.
