Poker tournament #3 for the Aussie Millions is in the books, and it was the polar opposite of Event #1. While that particular Texas Hold’em tourney was a marathon event, if poker players blinked too slowly during the third event, they may have missed the outcome. The blockbuster film “Avatar” was almost longer then the final day of this live poker event. With a poker tournament whose final table losses an average of two people per hour, it won’t take long to crown a winner. After a little more than 3 hours of final table action, the tourney was left with poker pros Steve Krmpotic and Simon Morris vying for the gold ring.
Krmpotic started the encounter with 323,000 chips compared to Morris’s more modest stack of 127,000. That lead lasted less than 15 minutes. The poker pros butted heads with Morris overwhelmingly getting the better of his live poker opponent. About 11 minutes after taking the lead the lead over his fellow Event #3 poker player, the whole thing was over and Steve Krmpotic had been eliminated in 2nd place.
Simon Morris cake walked his way through the heads up portion of this No Limit Texas Hold’em event. He never lost a meaningful hand, and once he got a stranglehold on the lead, could not be pried off his game. The win gives him an Aussie Millions gold ring and $25,650. Not bad for only four hours work. He has plenty of time to enjoy the beach now.
