The Absolute Poker College Challenge Returns

The Absolute Poker College

How many ramen noodles will $10,000 buy? Probably enough to keep any college kid a carbohydrate induced coma for homecoming to spring break. Regrettably, working at the local Taco Bell between classes doesn’t pay that well. Fortunately for those college students who play online poker, the internet card room Absolute Poker does. This week marks the start of the Absolute Poker College Challenge; a competition that allows students to play poker for a share of $30,000.

As we all know, college kids don’t have much money, unless a rich relative or some sort of “sugar daddy” is involved. Absolute poker is well aware of the cash challenged nature of those who attend institutes of higher learning. With this in mind, the daily poker tournaments that will allow players to qualify for a Main Event are either free rolls or have a buy-in that is literally pocket change. Online poker players who qualify for the weekly Main Event will need to finish in the top nine of one of these poker tournaments in order to play poker at the big Main Event. This Texas Hold'em tournament will be played on November 30th. Beating their college chums senseless at Texas Hold'em in late November is not the last hurdle for these aspiring poker pros. The top six players will finish the whole thing live, in Los Angeles; competing for the $10,000 grand prize in a brutal round of six handed poker. Not only is a lot of tuition money on the line, but those who truly have aspirations of joining the ranks of poker pros enjoy the exposure they get from the final six being streamed live at Bluff.com.

For some lucky college poker player, this tournament could solve a lot of those pesky issues with student loans. Good Luck.
