Pocket pair looks very good in your hand. You begin to plan what youre going to do with the money youll win But are you sure you will win? Lets talk about the troubles you can face. At preflop you there are two ways: to show the strength of your hand and not to show. Say you have:  In fact, its better not to show the strength of your hand because theres a possibility that an overpair will come on the flop. And as you guess it will be very easy to beat you.Var.1The flop looks this way:  You have an overpair. If youre raised then the best options are either raise or call. You want to raise and reraise in order to blow out the players who can hit an overpair later.Var.2A flop with an overpair:  If there were raisers before you then you can choose between folding you hand and losing your money. Pretty good choice, huh?If everyone checked to you then youd better bet. But there is also a possibility that someones trying to check-raise. But even if so dont fold. Moreover raise. You can blow him out.  If its heads-up. As usual its better if you know your enemysorry your opponent. So, if you know that he can bet both with 9 and K then you should raise. By the way, I must warn you: its not very safe, but poker is like that.  Now let's suppose you have a middle pair, say:And the flop is:  In such case you can try to semi-bluff. Your raise can force those with middle pairs to fold. But if someone else raises before you or tries to check-raise than youd better fold yourself.  Summing up you shouldnt fold your pocket pair when an overpair flops 100% of time, but you should keep in mind that its a very dangerous situation.
