There are basically four types of hands you can get in poker. You can get crap hands, decent hands, good hands, or great hands. There could be further categories, but poker is already complicated enough without having to think about which one of a dozen brackets your hand is in and how you should accordingly bet.
Now, unless you simply ignore every single bit of advice you've ever been given about how to play poker, you know you should always fold the crap hands. They're trash and you should throw them out before you end up wasting money on them.
There's still a problem though. Many players are willing to bet money on okay hands. Why are they doing this? Why are they trying to win against a table of people, where at least one amongst them has a good hand or a great hand? Why are they wasting money?
Before we make too much fun of these fools, let's thank them for making the pots bigger and our winnings all the better.
Now, stop doing this. It is stupid and it will only end up losing you chips. Decent hands are just that, they're decent. Unless they're decent hands with a metric tonne of outs, fold them. A decent hand is just a little better than a trash hand. Poker isn't won by beating trash hands, it's won by beating good hands.
