It's pretty much over when you don't develop anything on the flop. Someone at the table is bound to have at least a pair, right? Even if you have an overcard, there's no way you can win the pot, right? Wrong. The flop isn't that crucible of hand development that it is often made out to be. Sure, many times, most of the table will make their hands on the flop. That's just pure statistics. But the thing is, all is not lost when you don't develop at the flop, especially when you overcard it. If the high card at the flop is a jack, and you're holding a queen, you're still in the game. Here, you can do two things. You can act agressively and try to take the pot as it stands, or you can limp along in the hope of getting an out for cheap. Whatever you do, don't let the flop stop you when you hold an overcard.
