Poker Players are all a Twitter

There was a saying from many one of the World Wars that said “Loose Lips Sink Ships”. This was something that didn’t just have to do with spies learning to keep their mouths shut, but even the line workers at a factory that made tanks, planes, ships, or any number of weapon systems probably knew something that the enemy could make use of. They needed to keep a tight rein on their lips to keep from leaking the type of information that could send a perfectly good aircraft carrier to the bottom of the Atlantic. A lot of poker players haven’t quite made the connection between loose lips and the damage it could do to their bankroll. Some go right on talking and giving away all the intelligence their potential opponents will ever need to beat them. In the old days, the damage was generally limited to giving away nuggets of information to the people around you. Today, people who can’t stop talking often use social networking tools like Twitter to give the world a window into their poker game. This is something that opponents can exploit. texas holdem poker strategy, poker hands, poker for fun, free poker, poker site

Being able to accurately put a player on a hand gives you a huge advantage over them. Players will try very hard to hide tells in order to keep other people from figuring out what cards they clutching. With this said, many of these same players will go on to twitter and tell the world about their poker game. They will talk about hands they folded, and why. They will tell which hands they mucked and what they managed to successfully bluff with. For a player who is willing to put the time into researching opponents, going through their tweets and other statements made on other social networking sites will help flesh out that persons game, and give a fairly accurate picture of the type of player they are and what you can expect from them. texas holdem poker strategy, poker hands, poker for fun, free poker, poker site

Most professional athletes look at film of their opponents to see their tendencies and get a read on what to expect from a certain opponent. Poker players live in the land of the cerebral, not the physical, so the what a potential opponent writes about their game is as valuable to them as a linebacker watching tapes of a running back. In short, a good poker strategy to follow is to take the time to research an opponent. Read their tweets, visit their MySpace page, their Facebook page, or go to their website (if they have one). You may inadvertently tell you everything that you will ever need to know to beat them. texas holdem poker strategy, poker hands, poker for fun, free poker, poker site
