TFT The Second Test

TFT The Second Test

The second test of the Turbo Fish Tour was run, with only five players with the game type selected staying the same (Loose/Very Passive.) A "very passive" game is defined as very little raising before the flop.  The tester played 17 out of one hundred hands; this is more than twice the previous test. The fact that there were fewer people contributed to this, primarily because the tester was in the big blind position a lot more often, and as the table was very passive many of those times he could play the hand regardless of its ranking in the Fish System.  The end result was a profit of $64 in a $4/$8 game, and the tester placed first in the money; had this been a round in a tournament, it is likely the tester would have won the event. Overall this game was a lot more active that the same game with more players, and was more satisfying in that regard, but it was less profitable.  As the Wilson software advises the player on what move to make, and also ranks how well they did in terms of being aggressive enough, tight enough, and the like, it was interesting to compare the software's analysis of how the tester played. In many ways the software indicated that the tester was too passive and too tight, almost the opposite of the results in the ten player game from Test One.  Only ten of the seventeen hands played are detailed, divided into two sections to illustrate some interesting observations from the game, and will be shown in the next article.  Test Three will take the passive level up a notch, so it will be a Loose/Passive game, which should, in theory, mean there will be fewer opportunities to check inferior hands to the flop and further when the tester is sitting in the Big Blind. It will be interesting to see if that is the case.
