The American actor, comedian and singer began his acting career on the New York stage in Broadway musicals and theatre. You can catch him on all nine season of Seinfeld and, lately, as himself on Curb Your Enthusiasm, which follows the day-to-day life of Seinfeld’s creator, Larry David. Alexander has also appeared in films such as Pretty Woman and Shallow Hal.
In recent years, Jason Alexander has competed on televised poker shows and in a variety of tournaments. He appeared twice on Bravo’s Celebrity Poker Showdown, winning the final table of the 8th season. In the process, he won $500,000 for the United Way of America of the greater New Orleans area.
An avid poker player, Alexander was also one of the famous faces on the online poker website HollywoodPoker.com, which is run in conjunction with the Ongame Network. He also played in the 2007 World Series of Poker Main Event, but was eliminated on the second day. He returned to play in 2009 and, after surviving Day 1 of the World Series of Poker Main Event, he declared: “For a bald Jew, it’s a good day.” He made it to Day 3 of the event, finishing in the top 30% of the field.
Jason Alexander has also appeared on NBC’s Poker After Dark in the “Celebrities and Mentors” episode. He finished in 6th place after being eliminated by professional poker player Gavin Smith. He currently players on the online poker website PokerStars where you can find him under the screen name J. Alexander.
