What Han Solo Can Teach You About Poker

We are pretty sure just about everyone in the world knows who Han Solo is by now. He shouldn't need introduction, especially to anyone on the internet. However, if you happen to be one of the few people who doesn't recognize the name, you should rent a little movie called Star Wars.

Now, Han Solo was obviously a good enough card player in his own right. He won the Millenium Falcon in a card game, and that thing is a spaceship. We are pretty sure there's no one on the face of the Earth who has ever won a spaceship playing poker, so Han Solo is already pretty impressive right there.

But that's not where Han can help you. After all, we never actually see him play cards. Instead, we see him fly his ship and kick some butt. Here's where the lessons come in. Han Solo manages to win out more often than he loses because he always keeps a few tricks up his sleeve. He has a scheme or gimmick to get past almost anything, and he keeps them in his pocket until he needs them, always surprising those around him.

You need to hold your tricks even closer to your chest than your cards. Keep a few good ones up your sleeve, and don't pull them out until the time is just right. Your opponents won't know what happened, and you'll manage to deal with another tough situation.
