When you're rocking it, you feel good. You feel like you're on fire and nothing can stop you from your rise to the top. Feeling like you're on fire is one of the best feelings, especially in poker. Okay, if you're really on fire, then it's actually one of the worst feelings, but we're talking figuratively here. Feeling like you're on fire gives you the confidence to take risks.
There's a problem with that, though. There's always a chance you can get overconfident. You might be feeling the flames too strongly to notice any other sensations that come up, say perhaps, impending doom.
The other thing that might happen is that you'll burn too hot. Other players may try to put out the blaze burning up around them. There's also a chance that you'll burn yourself out. The cards have no memory, but winning streaks don't last forever. You need to remember when to douse yourself and return to a normal temperature.
Catching fire can be the greatest sensation when playing poker, but don't let it burn out of control.
