So you love playing live poker, and you love the idea of playing with a bunch of pals, but you have no place to play? How about this: make a deal with the local pub and start your own pub poker night.
Pub poker is a very popular thing right now, with pubs, restaurants, bars and other places paying companies to run poker nights at their place of business in order to bring in paying customers. Typically held on weak business nights like mid- week, these poker games are free to play, offering points and prizes down the line, trying to get players to come again and again to play. If you don't have such a place in your home town and your place is too small to host a poker night, consider speaking to your local pub owner about your own poker night there.
The idea is for the pub to reserve a few tables off in a corner somewhere on a night when there are not many customers and let you play your game. You bring in your chips and cards and - presumably - a bunch of people who want to play. The pub gets a gang of players on a night when they are scraping by. You may even get a few free drinks or food out of the deal, like a plate of nachos for the table or something a little special for you for organizing the whole deal.
