Kimberly Lansing has been serenaded at the poker table and asked out before and after interviews by guys who make millions of dollars playing poker. From what we understand she usually politely rebuffs them, and goes on with her life. This is a celebrity example of an issue that is becoming more and more common: dating behavior at the poker table.
Any guy who has ever been slapped silly at a bar while staring down the blouse of some anonymous yet attractive female while she reached for lemons should know that they will not get a warmer reaction when taking a peek while a woman is pushing her chips into the middle of a table during a poker game. In other words, what doesn't work at the singles bar probably won't work when playing poker.
Women are now a permanent fixture in the game of poker, and some of us couldn't be happier about it. There is a time and a place to approach one about getting her phone number, and serenading her in front of the entire room probably doesn't qualify.
Chad Brown, like most critters who are fueled by testosterone and Taco Bell, found Vanessa Rousso irresistibly attractive. His approach to Ms. Rousso should be a text book example of how to approach the object of your affection while playing poker. Chad waited for the break in a tournament they were both playing, and then asked her out. She gave him the dreaded "rain check" so he probably figured he had been rejected, but a couple months later she paid up on her rain check. They are now getting married next fall. It is safe to say it worked out for him.
He didn't do anything obnoxious, or wild, or musical - he just found an appropriate time and asked her out. Oddly enough, it worked. Imagine that.
