  Part of playing successful poker is knowing how to maneuver your opponents into disadvantageous positions. You can't rely on just luck to win you the game, you need to be able to manipulate your foes and force them into positions where even if their luck is outstanding, they can't take advantage of it.



  Boxing your opponents in requires you to be a little predictive of where the game is going. If you don't have any idea of how a game will develop, you won't be able to set up situations and set up your opponents. You need to be able to see ahead by observing how your opponents are playing and extrapolating how that play will affect the game.



  Obviously, the less experienced an opponent is, the easier he or she will be to box in, but you should concentrate your efforts on boxing in the strong players. They are the ones who will be a threat to you in the later stages of the game. In addition, inexperienced opponents can often be relied on to place themselves in compromised positions - they don't need your assistance.



  To box your opponents in, you need to get them devoted to developing hands that aren't gong to happen, which means you have to get them thinking that their luck is excellent and you are an easy target.
