There was once a series of commercials that proclaimed "This is not your father's Oldsmobile". The clear goal of this ad campaign was to convince younger drivers that the Oldsmobile was cool, hip, stylish, and the official vehicle of twenty-something slackers everywhere. These commercials featured grumpy, older celebrities being tooled around in these cars by their more "with it" kids. Considering the fact that this ad blitz not only didn't create any rush of younger customers, but also managed to tick off their bingo loving base audience, the whole thing should be considered a failure. Maybe if they wanted to sell these cars to the MTV generation, they should have taken the word "Old" out of Oldsmobile.
If the Moscow office of tourism was trying to change the west's opinion of Russia, perhaps they would have more success with a "This is not your father's communism" campaign. Today Russia is thriving, bustling, and capitalistic nation. Anybody who has been to Moscow over the past few years will see that its vibe is very similar to the one that is felt in cities like London, Paris, New York, and Chicago. The problem is that much of the western media seems to be ignorant of the fact that Russia is a very Cosmopolitan nation, and one would wonder if the New York Times editorial staff is even aware that Stalin is dead. Thankfully, Titan Poker is aware of the dramatic changes in this historic nation since the late 80's and will be sending players there for the first time to compete in the White Night Millions.
This million dollar tournament will be held in St. Petersburg and will be the biggest poker event in Russia's history. Up for grabs in this tourney is an unprecedented $1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool.
Titan Poker will be holding Super Satellites every Friday night that will allow players to compete for a free ride to the White Night Millions. Those who win a trip to play in this tournament will have their buy-in, flight, and luxury hotel accommodations covered. Those who are interested in this rare opportunity can find details at Titan Poker.
PLEASE NOTE: Titan Poker has confirmed recently that the tournament was cancelled.
