The Oldest Profession

  Some people when asked what the world's oldest profession is will blush and get silly little grin on their face; others will think about it for a moment and then say that farming is the oldest human vocation. Those of you who are in that latter category probably need to get out more. It is a well traveled notion that prostitution is the planet's oldest service industry job. At many points in history women of negotiable affection have gone with the poker industry in the same complimentary fashion as a warm glass of milk and a bag of Oreos go together. With the Governor of New York, Eliot Spitzer being busted for repeatedly dipping his quill in some very expensive ink, the worlds of poker and prostitution have found themselves on a collision course again.  Now, Mr. Spitzer was forced out of office after being caught paying a young lady $4600 for some good loving. This brings up a couple of questions, not the least of which is what the hell could she do that was worth over $4000? Unless some black-market crystal meth, a colonic, and a cattle prod were involved, Eliot probably overpaid. The other question is why this married father of 3 spent his attorney general days persecuting online poker while attempting to singlehandedly support the New York prostitution industry. One has to wonder why he considers online gaming immoral.  Immoral is as immoral does. Guys like Spitzer will buy women, and then have their poor wives stand with them at a press conference while their hubbies give vague apologies. These same men will call a perfectly consensual game of online poker a vice simply because it will get them some votes from people that don't understand the game. So, in truth who is really the prostitute?
