What does Absolute Poker's Liv Boeree have to do with the communications industry? The answer to this question is that she has absolutely nothing to do with that particular segment of the business world. Despite that, Ms. Broeree will be appearing at Comm Solutions 2008.
This event at Wembley Stadium is aimed at resellers providing voice, data, mobility and converged ICT solutions to the SME/Mid-Market business community. In other words, this has about as much in common with poker as a Platypus has in common with Ronald McDonald (of course serving Platypus as an alternative meat would explain the taste of McDonald's burgers). Despite the gulf between these two industries, Liv will be there to offer a number of fifteen minute lessons to the convention attendees, and give the people the benefit of her knowledge.
For those who think Liv is just a pretty face combined with a number of other substantially attractive bits, don't forget that this is a young lady who can clean most of our clocks at a poker table. Not only did she perfect her game under the tutelage of Annie Duke but she has been cleaning up on the British tournament circuit. Over the past twenty four months she has logged eleven top ten finishes along with four victories.
This should be a lot of fun for everyone involved. Despite the fact that when people say "cell phone" they don't immediately think "Holdem", it is nice to see that there is enough interest in this industry to justify a poker related event at their convention.
