Battle of the Sexes

  There is very little doubt that most people are familiar with the term "battle of the sexes". This is a broad term that describes any conflict that involves somebody from a gender who favors crying and shopping pitted against somebody whose chromosome set steers them towards such behavior as burping the alphabet and scratching themselves in places that are socially unacceptable under any circumstances.  A battle of the sexes can describe what happens on American Idol, what might happen during the American Presidential elections, or the nightly battle between who will clear the dishes from the table. This is all well and good, but if the words "battle" and "sex" are going to be used in the same sentence, shouldn't they describe an activity that is enjoyable?  To keep the time honored battle on more friendly terms, the Purple Lounge are launching their own battle of the sexes, which will rage across the online poker tables from May to August. In a number of cases when men and women are locked in poker combat, somebody's clothes are coming off. This is not the case with the Purple Lounge. The competition is just good clean poker fun.  Online qualification tournaments will be held in three stages, and are set to begin on Tuesday, May 1st. Players have the chance to qualify twice weekly, either via a free roll or through a buy-in ($10+1) with all winners going to a semi-final at the end of each stage.  Once folks have made it to the finals, they will be flown to a secret location in London, England to determine which sex rules the poker roost.  Considering the general "over the top" lavender decor that dominates the Purple Lounge, we are going to have to give home field advantage to the women. Well, unless the guy who is playing is a male hairdresser or Prince, then home field becomes a toss up.  No matter what though, this would be a very interesting event to participate in.
