There are a few sure signs that spring has sprung. First of all, those of us who can't drag ourselves out of bed before eleven in the morning have to cover our ears with a pillow to muffle the sounds of all the happy robins. Second, families can't take their kids to the zoo without having to explain why the male giraffe looks like he is trying to jump over the female giraffe. Lastly, you know it is spring when the World Poker Tour is suddenly looking for a new hostess.
Nobody can fault the WPT for being on yet another hostess search: Layla Kayleigh raised her profile considerably by presenting the show for the last few months, and seems to have decided to see where her new status can take her. Now it seems the WPT and its fans are back to where we were last year: waiting for the announcement of a new hostess. The difference is that maybe they don't have to look beyond their own backyard to find a replacement for Layla.
Kimberly Lansing has done a hell of a job for the WPT this year an not only do a lot of people believe she has earned the main hostess spot, but that she would also be the perfect choice. Kimberly has a pedigree as an entertainment journalist that includes writing for People Magazine. She is outgoing, bright, personable, and has the sort of looks that would cause Naomi Campbell beat an intern to soothe her bitter jealousy.
Okay, so it's obvious, we are biased towards Ms. Lansing and think she would be a great hostess. Sure, they could find a Vanna White clone to take the job, but does the world really need one more empty letter turner?
