Poker on TV - Poker Dome Challenge

  Domes do not have a very good reputation. Anybody who has ever sat through a Detroit Lions game at the old Silverdome probably have the pretty bad feeling about domes. If you somehow found yourself sitting through the Mad Max film where Tina Turner forces Mel Gibson to commit a number of hate crimes in the Thunderdome, you probably could go the rest of your life without having another dome related experience. MansionPoker.com thinks it is time to start feeling good about Domes again.  Mansion Poker and Fox Sports Network are now bringing poker fans 43 weeks of speed poker. This show is hosted by Barry Tompkins as well as poker player and comeidian Michael Konik, with model Leeann Tweeden doing the exit interviews. Anybody who qaulifies playing one of MansionPoker's daily freerolls can take their place as one of the six players at the televised single table tournament. The plus is that winning a seat at the tournament means the player gets an all expense paid trip to Las Vegas along with $500 in casino credit and other perks. The catch is that this is speed poker. During the touramnet players only have 15 seconds to act before their hand is considered to be dead. This can be debilitating to a player who is feeling the pressure of competition combined with that of the television cameras.  This unique tournament has some other things that set it apart. Some rather spiffy technology is used to bring the viewer as close to the action as possible without actually being in the seat. When all is said and done, this show will not only appeal to the hardcore poker fan who would watch anything that has 52 cards, but it also appeals to those who were raised on football and basketball.
