Poker on TV - Late Night Poker Masters

In most cases, if your watching a program that has the words "Late Night" in it, and one of the principal personalities is called "Barmy" chances are you are viewing somethng with a TV-MA rating. In the case of Late Night Poker Masters, you are simply watching the best poker that Great Britain has to offer.  This program goes back to an oringinal run of Late Night Poker that existed between 1999 and 2002. Its popularity continued after the original run was finished, and the producer thought it wise to bring the show back. 2006 marks the re-launch of the innovative program. One of the reasons that Late Night Poker made such an impression was that they were visually doing things that those who created rival shows had not even began to experiment with. One of their biggest innovations was the use of the "hole cam".  Despite the fact that anything called a "hole cam" inherently has some rather frisky connotations, this particular use of a camera was completely innocent and rather inventive. It allowed the viewing audience to see the cards a player had through the glass table.  Late Night Poker Masters is shaping up to be somethig that will live up to the repuation so lovingly forged by its predecessor, even though the format will be a tad different. The game will involve 4 heats of 8 players at each table. Only 6 of the 8 players will be professionals. The 2 ameteurs add nice "wild card" effect to the game.  Those who have agreed to participate on this show are Joe Beevers, Barny Boatman, Dave Colclough, Peter Costa, Liam Flood, Ken Lennaard, Marcel Luske, Donnacha O'Dea, Pascal Perrault, Ben Roberts, Surinder Sunar, Willie Tann, Simon Trumper and Ram Vaswani. Combied with this field of professionals will be 8 players who qualified online to play.  Those who wish to watch Late Night Poker Masters can find it on Channel 4 in Britain and Fox Sports Net in the United States.
