Patty Gallagher is one of poker’s top rising female stars. Born in the Philippines, Patty now resides in San Diego where she hones her poker skills in Southern California’s numerous casinos. Gallagher has been playing poker since 1992 and has many big game wins to her credit including first place in the no-limit hold’em 2004 Five Diamond World Poker Classic II, second place in the limit hold’em 2005 L.A. Poker Classic, and third place in the limit hold’em 2004 WSOP ($5K buy-in).
Gallagher is an ambitions woman and those who know her know her big goal is to be the first female player to ever win the World Series of Poker championship. It’s no secret that some male poker players are not fond of Gallagher’s brash style and who care’s about you attitude. (Though bad behavior is regularly tolerated among men, for some reason, they seem to be less tolerant of such behavior from a woman.) She, of course, doesn’t pay much attention to what they think and instead focuses her time and energies on playing top-notch poker.Whether or not Gallagher becomes the first woman to ever win the World Series of Poker main event is yet to be seen. The one thing that is for certain is that one can expect to see her doing what only she can do to try to beat the boys at this year’s championship game.
