Isabelle Mercier is a vivid representative of the new generation of poker players. In her 29 she does not have many major champion title, but still she has already managed to win the WPT “Ladies’ Night Out II”.
Her Learning Experience Isabelle was born in 1975 in Canada. She has a degree in international law and a barrister’s license. She enjoys music, literature and movies. She always looks classy and at the same time is not afraid to change her image. Isabelle is so different from all those old-timers playin’ pokah in smoky backrooms and wearin’ all those hats and chains. But still she is a talented poker player. Isabelle started to hold’em in her childhood. Her first gambling experience was playing poker with her father and uncles. Mercier loved the game so much that she began working as a dealer when she grew up. Then she was a poker manager at the Aviation Club de France. While doing these jobs she was constantly learning to play and once she decided that now she had an ability to play poker for living. No Mercy From Mercier Isabelle became a star after winning the WPT “Ladies’ Night Out II.” She managed to beat five other women (such poker celebrities as Cyndy Violette were among them) at a rough competition. Isabelle was cool-minded and calculating. She cared about her opponents much more than about the cards and it led her to the first place. However many of those who watched the event did not like her “staring” at other players. A good poker player plays his opponents not his cards. If she knows this she will always do good at a poker table. The New School Yes, Isabelle is a new type of a poker player. She speaks good English and French, not that Texas language used by Amarillo Slim, Benny Binion and all the other old-timers. She does not need all those stuff which are believed to bring luck (oranges, sunglasses, rings etc). “No amulets, no superstition, no rites,” she says. “Music in my earphones helps me to brace energies during the pleasant hours of the game.” So, we’ll wait for the new achievements of this realist player.
