Evelyn Ng looks like a super model. She likes parties and video games, enjoys dressing up and likes to be photographed. She is “a girly girl” as she calls herself. But at the same time she is a professional poker player. And what makes her different from a lot of poker girls is the fact that she does really well at the poker table.
Beating Poker Stars Evelyn has become famous after finishing second at The Ladies Night, one of most famous Kathy Liebert. Ng began her gambling career at age 14 playing pool. At age 17 she was already playing cards in the backrooms of her native city Toronto. At about that time she met Daniel Negreanu who became her great friend and poker coach “He helped me a lot, actually," says Evelyn.“In the beginning I was more stubborn, and he more coached me with the conditioning of a poker player, how to keep your cool at the poker table, and not to let your emotions get over you. In the end, now, he's coaching me a lot with strategy, like no limit strategy.” She regrets that now both she and Daniel are too busy and can’t spend much time together. “We used to play more, maybe a couple of years ago. But now, you know, we're kind of busy. No messing around,” she says. First Deal’em then Hold’em Being very enthusiastic about card games, Ng became a Blackjack dealer. Then she dealt poker and after some more time she decided to play the game rather than to deal it. “If you ask me, women have as much or even greater ability to read players, to analyze, strategize,” asserts Evelyn. Well, her game is really wonderful. She is young but very promising player. Ng is considered to be a very tough opponent. She plays mostly online but sometimes can be seen at Bellagio or Mirage. About Her Name Ng is not an acronym neither it is a nickname. It is her original family name, nothing more. However, Evelyn likes when people call her by her name or use the nicknames – Evy or Evybabee.
