Jennifer Harman was born and raised in Reno, Nevado and started playing poker in 1972 when she was only eight years old. Growing up in Nevada, she has always been close to the Las Vegas poker scene. Harman won her first World Series of Poker bracelet in 2000 at the prestigious No Limit Deuce to Seven Lowbal Event. She had never played that particular poker game prior to the event, but received a five-minute tutorial from Howard Lederer just before playing. She won her second World Series of Poker bracelets two years later at the $5K Limit Hold’em event. Jennifer Harman is the only woman with two bracelets in World Series of Poker open events.
During the most recent World Series of Poker, which ran at the Rio Las Vegas Convention Center, Jennifer Harman took some time to rate the best poker rooms in Las Vegas. Considering she is arguably the best female poker player in the world, we take these suggestions very seriously.
Coming in as Jennifer Harman’s fifth place pick for best poker room is Caesars. The casino offers 30 regular tables in an 8,500-square-foot main poker room and an additional 6,000 square-feet for tournaments. This casino is used for the NBC Heads-Up Finals. Harman suggests you check out Joe’s Stone Crab for a bite between poker games.
Harman’s #4 is the Wynn Casino, which offers 26-table poker rooms and is always abuzz with activity. Coming in at #3 for Harman is the Venetian, which offers a 24-hour, smoke-free card room is a remarkably open-wall private club-level facility. Harman says that the poker room is very spacious, run very well and also offers a private room for the higher limit games.
Jennifer Harman picks Rio as her second place among the best poker rooms in Las Vegas. It is an intimate smoke-free room with 10 tables, lots of novice-friendly sit-and-go tournament, and also hosts the World Series of Poker events in their convention center. According to Harman, “they really care about making the best tournament ever for the players.”
Ranked at #1 in Jennifer Harman’s best poker rooms is the Bellagio, which is 7,000 square-feet, hosts the World Poker Tour and offers 40 smoke-free tables and two high-limit areas. Harman says: “We usually eat at the tables and the restaurants are very good – I like Prime and Circo – and offer us great service.”
