When asked by the officials of the World Series of Poker, prior to his appearance at the final table of the Main Event in 2006, what he would like the rest of the world to know about him, Paul Wasicka gave an answer guaranteed to make him look like a good guy to his friends and family even if he refused to lend him any of the $6 million that he won when he took second place. He said that he had the best friends and family anyone can ask for, something certainly to be grateful for - and now as a multimillionaire, he is a few more things to be grateful for.
Paul is 25 years old and was born in Dallas, Texas. He now lives in Westminster, Colorado, where he's been playing poker for the last two years. With only two years of experience under his belt, Paul has cast already in six major poker tournaments. Boasting a poker nickname that deserves some explanation, although none was forthcoming from Paul, "Kwick Fish” did not move quickly during the final table. He avoided getting mixed up in many hands with the dominant chip leader, and Jamie Gold, which worked in his favor as one by one the other players were busted out of the event. When it got down to heads-up play Paul, while certainly an excellent poker player, could not overcome the nearly 8 to 1 chip lead held by Gold.
A $6,000,000 prize is obviously the biggest one Paul has ever took. Below are Paul's other tournament victories.
