On April 30, 1968 in Los Angeles, California the world greeted Mike "The Mouth" Matusow. He grew up competitive - building race cars, bowling, and playing pool. His mouth often landed him black-eyed as a youngster. Now Mike's got a big reputation, big lifetime earnings that exceed $5,352,400, and a very big mouth that still gets him in trouble. Make is known for emotional outbursts, loud rantings, and rarely withholding an opinion - and it's not difficult to figure out how the nickname came to be.
Spouting the f-bomb and reaping penalties from dealers, verbally trashing opponents, and serving jail time for buying illegal drugs reflect Matusow's fast lane world. Before Mike's poker days he worked in a family business and as a Las Vegas poker dealer at the Orleans and Sam's Town Casino. Mike learned to play poker in 1989. Now he's considered the best Omaha player ever. By 1999 he reached a milestone - winning the WSOP No Limit Holdem event. Since that first big win - Mike's had his share of on-air "Matusow Meltdowns" - launching him into the spotlight and making him one of the most discussed poker pros ever. Matusow's accomplishments require no additional lip-service on his part and prove his ability to play poker. He has two WSOP bracelets - one for the 1999 win and another for the 2002 Omaha Eight or Better event. In 2005 he won the WSOP's Tournament of Champions and placed 9th in the main event. In 2006 he earned half a million dollars when he won the Poker Superstars Invitational Championship and placed third in the WSOP Tournament of Champions. Most recently, Matusow took over $671,000 for his second place finish at the World Poker Tour at the Bellagio Cup III 2007 main event. He earned $88,800 for a 16th place finish at the 2007 WSOP. Aside from his heavy playing schedule - Matusow represents Team Full Tilt.
