David Ulliott is really a high-class poker player. He is from the UK and has an image of a classical English gentleman. Now, as professional poker player he is one of the most feared opponents for casino players. He has a very remarkable nickname – The Devilfish. The fish with such name lives in northern sees. It is poisonous and can attack you to death.
“The Clock”
Actually, “The Devilfish” wasn’t always David’s nickname. First he was just “The Clock.” Dave “The Clock.”
He began playing poker at age 16 at his hometown of Null. As a young player he was short of money and sometimes it was very hard for him to make the ends meet. Once he came into a poker room where a local furniture dealer was playing. Dave showed his grandfather’s clock and asked for the permission to use it as a buy-in. Since that day he became Dave “The Clock.”
“The Devilfish”
He was doing quite well at a poker table and became a skillful player. Once a Chinese player came to Null and found himself at a poker table against Dave Ulliott. “You are a devilfish, aren’t you?” he said after losing a big pot to a young English player. Nobody but the people who were watching the game knew about this event.
“On The Master”
Years were passing and David was gaining experience. He began playing in the highest circles. Once he made it to the final table at the one of the WSOP events. His opponent was Men “The Master” Nguyen. There were a lot of people at the Horseshoe and no-one of them knew the stranger from the United Kingdom. “On The Master!” the audience was chanting.
“On The Devilfish!” suddenly cried somebody in the back row. Everybody looked there. A man was standing and repeating that again and again: “On The Devilfish!” David recognized him. He was one of those who had seen the game with a Chinese guy 15 years before.
David was a winner that evening. “Devilfish devours The Master” read the headlines the next day. Since than everybody called him “The Devilfish.”
A Jeweler
Dave Ulliott is not only a poker player. He likes music and plays guitar and piano and works as a jeweler. He always wears two rings on his both hands. One reads “Devil” and the other “Fish.”
David’s winning list is really impressive. He has won and finished “in the money” in a great number of European and American tournaments. He has one WSOP bracelet and one WPT champion title.
