It only took approximately one month of travel, poker, and playing tournaments for David Plastik to rake in $100,000. It's no wonder then that once he started playing poker it quickly became a way of life for him. Although his total earnings to date of over $2,000,000 are far from the huge profits realized by many seasoned pros - David is steadily making a name for himself.
Born in 1964 in Queens, New York - David went on to graduate from the University of Hartford. From there he moved to Las Vegas where he began a career taking concert and band pictures for various rock bands. Then he decided to move to Los Angeles where his dad put him to work for his company as a sales representative. In 1995 David began frequenting the Commerce Casino and two years later he started playing in tournaments.
Plastik's competitive nature makes him a natural fit for the game. That same competitive nature often gives way to strained, emotional, and highly visible outpourings of emotion for Plastik. He's known to behave like a disappointed child upon losing - a scene he performed readily upon losing to Barry Greenstein at the 2002 WSOP.
David's most memorable win was $515,750 and 1st place finish at the LA Poker Classic in 2006. He has twenty five WSOP cashes and ended up finishing 147th in the 2005 main event for $46,245. In the 2007 WSOP No Limit Holdem event he took 7th place for $93,610. In 2003 he took 2nd place at the Five-Star World Poker Classic, taking home just over $63,500. That same year he earned $21,000 during the WSOP's H.O.R.S.E. event.
