Ben Roberts was born in Iran but moved to London, England as a teenager. While the beaches in England are not known for super fun sun spots, they certainly were a staging area for a change in Ben' life - when a buddy produced a deck of cards and began teaching Ben how to play poker, the young Roberts was hooked "from the first deal."
Roberts has been a poker player for over twenty years, but you won't see him turn up very often in the World Series of Poker or the World Poker Tour, as Ben is primarily a cash game guy. Of course, we are not talking nickels and dimes - or even pence and pounds - but six figure swings. It is here where Ben Roberts shines. If Ben ever tires of the poker life, he could always go back to his first gambling pastime, snooker. Had he not been introduced to the game of poker, says Ben, he would have spent his life playing snooker - but not winning at it. While Ben loves snooker he does not have half the talent at the game as he does at poker, and his bankroll proves it. Despite being a primarily cash game player, Ben has cashed in many big tournaments, usually taking thousands in each cash.
