According to a snooty British judge along with anybody with a phone and too much time on their hands, Shannon Elizabeth can't dance. This is why her stint on "Dancing with the Stars" lasted about as long as a pint of Hagen Daze in Rosie O'Donnell's freezer. Thankfully for the lovely Ms. Elizabeth, her feet are not what help her make her living.
Shannon was born in Houston, Texas in 1973 and raised in Waco, Texas. Unlike many other celebrities who wanted to be stars as soon as they were first exposed to television, Shannon's focus wasn't on a life in front of a camera. Much of her time was spent preparing for a career as a professional athlete. While in high school, she was still working towards a future in tennis. Not everything in her life involved smacking a small green ball over a net. Shannon was always unusually beautiful and at a time when most kids were enjoying their first job at a fast food restaurant, she was entering the world of modeling. Soon she started receiving small roles in a number of films - including her infamous topless webcam bit in "American Pie". While her film career has been clicking along nicely for over a decade, she has also managed to have some success at the poker table. Shannon refers to poker as her "second career", but she has ironically had more success at this game than a lot of folks who make it their sole focus. In the past she has cashed out four times at the World Series of Poker, and made the final table during the 2005 WSOP Main Event. She has also appeared on the now defunct Celebrity Poker Showdown and in 2007 made the final four in the NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship. Tennis's loss was poker's gain. Though we will not see her hoisting the Wimbledon trophy over her head anytime soon, there is no doubt that a WSOP bracelet is in her future plans along with perhaps an Oscar or an Emmy.
