According to Doyle Brunson, Mike Caro is the best draw poker player alive: “At thirty-three Mike is the finest five-card Draw Poker player alive and openly admits that his unorthodox, bizarre style of play is only an act calculated to throw his opponents off-guard.”
He is that kind of player that doesn’t have Tells on him. Almost all players have and he – doesn’t: “Mike has so many strange mannerisms while playing and is so unpredictable that the only thing you know for sure about his game is that you don’t know anything for sure about his game!” Yes, Caro is a tells expert. “Caro’s Book Of Poker Tells, the psychology and body language of poker” is an encyclopedia of all tells that are worth mentioning. It’s not just a list of “chips moving means bluffing”. Each tell has a full description: title, catgory, description, motivation, reliability (my favorite), value per hour, discussion and best strategy. In 1978 Caro made 50 statistical tables for Doyle’s “Super System” that are still of current importance. Then 1990: Caro works at Poker Probe that analyzes 15 different forms of poker on IBM. The next step was the foundation of Caro’s University Of Poker, Gaming, and Life Strategy at Hollywood Park in 1998.
