Jason Alexander

Jason Alexander

If you scream "Serenity Now!" whenever you feel the pressure of life beginning to overwhelm you, or tell the girls you meet in Vegas that your name is Art Vandelay, and you're an architect from New York, then you are probably familiar with the work of Jason Alexander. Mr. Alexander is better known as George Costanza, the walking nuclear bomb of stress and rage.

Alexander's journey to television superstardom started, oddly enough, on the Broadway stage. He appeared in Stephen Sondheim's Merrily We Roll Along, The Rink, Neil Simon's Broadway Bound, Accomplice, and Jerome Robbins' Broadway, for which he was awarded the 1989 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical.  Besides flirtation with the stage and his role on Seinfeld, Jason Alexander has had a long and distinguished career. He has appeared in such films as Pretty Woman and Shallow Hal. Jason has also lent his voice to such Disney mega-hits as The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, and Tarzan. In most cases he is the funny sidekick, the comic foil for the main character. The ability to come back quickly with a witty remark that is frothing with sarcasm made Jason a fantastic edition to Celebrity Poker Showdown.  As a contestant, Jason did pretty well. He played himself into the championship game, quipping all the way. A Hold'em championship was not to be for the former Seinfeld star. He was the first one to go to the losers lounge in a championship game that was eventually won by Brad Garrett from "Everybody Loves Raymond".  Though he was not victorious on that day, Jason is no stranger to the game and showed some flair when playing on the hit Bravo show. Nobody will be surprised to see Jason shows up again at a poker related event, and anybody who has watched him play will agree that the sport is a more entertaining place with him in it.
