George Clooney was an overnight discovery that took fifteen years to happen. As an actor he started off in daytime drama, like his Ocean's counterpart Brad Pitt, and picked up many, many bit parts in a variety of shows like Roseanne. The biggest thing George had going for him was his hair, which he admits was a big door opener. Along the way George has played criminals, boyfriends, doctors and even superheroes, although even he admits that his performance as Batman left more than a little to be desired. But wait - what about poker?
Perhaps one of his most memorable performances was in the before mentioned Ocean's series, starting with Ocean's Eleven, then Ocean's Twelve, and soon to come Ocean's Thirteen. While the first movie was centered around a casino heist that isn't the direct connection to poker - it is the poker game scene, where Danny Ocean (Clooney's character) scams a bunch of b-stars from Tinseltown with the help of his buddy Rusty (played by Brad Pitt.) Also the script for Ocean's Thirteen is being written by the same guys who wrote Rounders, so there is bound to be more poker in the third part of the trilogy. Born May 6th, 1961 in Lexington, Kentucky George came into the world destined for the spotlight. His mother, Nina, was a former Miss Kentucky runner up and his father, Nick, was a talk show host - and the biggest influence of all was his aunt, American actress and singer Rosemary Clooney.
